Two talented horse professionals working together, producing some of the top jumper & eventing horses & riders as well as winning race horses.
Holly Jacks Equestrian
Eventing & Jumper Trainer
Eventing is similar to a triathlon... it involves three phases that test the ability and skills of both the horse and the rider. These phases include the disciplines of dressage, stadium show jumping and cross country jumping. As a result, teaching eventing requires a trainer/coach to have the skills to pass on to their equine and human students to allow them to master each of the disciplines and produce a winning effort.
Holly Jacks has been eventing for over 15 years and built her skillset through her experience with some of the best eventing coaches in Canada and the United States as well as her time spent doing each of the disciplines herself. She has taken those skills and turned around to coach and train her students in such a way that they thoroughly enjoy every lesson and come home from shows with ribbons and smiles.
Thoroughbred Racing Training & Rehabilitation
A race horse is a special animal using its agility to take on any speed event on the flat. However, it takes a special horse to be able to go the distance and come out a winner. And, it takes a special trainer to get them there.
Bruce Smither has been training winning race horses for decades. He started as a jockey and took those skills further to enhance the skills of up-and-coming race horses.
Specializing in bringing along young & problem horses
Teaching young horses how to accept a saddle and rider is not enough... you have to teach him how to respond to your requests; handle unknown circumstances; and be comfortable in his environment.
Holly & Bruce have a knack for taking a young, inexperienced horse and turning it into a safe and confident mount no matter which discipline it will eventually end up in.
"Holly is amazing! I have tried several coaches over the last few years and each have taught me a bit here and there but I was still not feeling confident in my riding. Since riding with Holly, I have become much more confident and so has my horse. She is a great teacher and also makes each lesson or schooling session so much fun. Thanks Holly!"
